Mostly sunny skies will be around today with light northwest winds. Temperatures will remain comfortable and below average topping out in the upper 70’s near 80°. A few clouds will hang around tonight with temperatures dropping into the mid 50’s. Saturday and Sunday both look to be pleasant with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the lower 80’s. A quick moving cold front will move through Saturday night bringing some scattered showers during the overnight hours and it will also keep temperatures cooler than average for Sunday.
Storms will continue to be in the picture through the evening hours and perhaps into darkness, but gradually these storms will dissipate and leave us with a foggy night. Friday and Saturday look really good, but Sunday could bring another chance for rain.

It has been a wild week in racing, and it seems like it’s only going to get more interesting.
—-Will Power is a deserving champion. One of the nicest guys in racing got his first IndyCar Series win last weekend at Edmonton. Power has shown repeatedly this year why he should have a full-time ride in the IndyCar Series. Sunday, he cemented it with a solid drive and a checkered flag. Power is a threat to win any road course event, and turned a lot of heads at the Speedway this past May. Congratulations Will, nice job mate!
—-Speaking of the Brickyard, Juan Pablo Montoya winning would have made for a great story. JPM was DOMINATING the 400 last Sunday, even more than he did when he ran away with the 500 in 2000. But you can’t speed in the pits. Montoya is one of the greatest drivers in the world, but he made the cardinal mistake. YOU CAN’T BEAT YOURSELF, when you have the dominant car. And you can’t throw away a chance at immortality, see, Goodyear, Scott, 1995.
—-Speaking of things related to the Brickyard, I can’t be the only person surprised by the timing of Tony George’s statement. An hour before the second-biggest event of the year at the track he used to be the CEO of???? I fear this Hoosier Family Feud is going to get worse before it gets better. I hope my beloved Brickyard isn’t a casualty.
—-Tony Kanaan has had a horrible year, from his crash at the Brickyard in May, to nearly being barbecued in Edmonton. But TK is still TK, after his pit fire he sent out several “tweets” making light of what could have been a much more dangerous situation. I’ve said it for years. Tony Kanaan is a credit to the IndyCar Series. If you’re a new fan to the sport, looking for a driver to support, this may be your guy. TK is EVERYTHING that is right with racing.
—-Push to pass is coming to the IndyCar Series. While I have never liked “gimmicky” racing, I give credit to the ICS for at least trying something, anything, to make the racing better, we’ll see if it works.
Scattered showers are moving through areas to the south of us.
Tonight the showers will be to our east, so we will be partly cloudy and mild. Lows in the mid 50s and light wind.
Patchy fog Thursday morning for areas that had rain from today. Then scattered showers and thunderstorms develop along a stationary front sitting just to the south of us. Highs in the lower 80s, wind from the south at 10mph.
Tomorrow night, scattered showers and t’storms, then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows near 60, wind from the southwest at 10mph.
Friday and Saturday we clear it out and highs reach the mid 80s for Saturday. Scattered t’storms again for Sunday, highs in the mid 80s.
Scattered rain showers will be around this morning with cool northwest winds before the sun comes back out this afternoon. Temperatures will top out in the upper 70’s before falling into the upper 50’s tonight. Expect partly cloudy skies tomorrow with scattered rain and thunderstorms during the late afternoon/evening hours. Temperatures will stay below average topping out in the lower 80’s.
Financial Times.com recently reported that India, China and Brazil are reluctant to go along with tighter standards to limit emmisions which could play a role in what is called, “Global Warming”. The Indian enviroment minister, Jairam Ramesh, has dismissed predictions that Himalayan glaciers will be gone within 40 years. So, let us consider this. IF global warming turns out to be primarily human-induced, HOW can the problem be resolved if all the countries on the globe don’t co-operate equally? I keep hearing the message the “we” need to do something to curb the warming, but the subtle message seems only to be aimed at the U.S. If it’s global, then it’s global and that means unless we address the problem on a global basis, the current pick and choose attitude we’re seeing from countries who choose not to participate makes the perceived problem of warming due to human activity unstoppable. Even if the U.S. completely eliminated all emmissions today, the globe would still warm because of the lack of true participation on a global scale. This is NOT just as U.S. problem, nor is it entirely our fault. Please be careful not to let anyone convince you otherwise. Remember, it’s GLOBAL WARMING, not U.S. warming.
A cold front is edging its way down toward our area. Already, scattered storms are developing, but as the front gets closer, the chance of storms will increase.
Partly sunny skies will be around today with scattered rain and thunderstorms moving through. Rain and thunderstorms will be most active this afternoon and evening with a few scattered showers hanging around into Wednesday morning. Temperatures will warm up into the lower 80’s today and only into the upper 70’s on Wednesday.
