Last Nice Day, Major Cool Down Coming!October 25th, 2012 at 7:18 am by Lindsey Monroe under Weather
Today is the final day for well above average temperatures! In fact, we’ll be rather close to reaching record highs today as we climb near 81°. Today’s record for Terre Haute is 84° set in 1940. Otherwise, it will be mostly sunny and breezy with winds gusting out of the south near 30 mph.
Changes roll in tonight as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Not only will we see a drastic cool down with temperatures dropping back near 45° during the overnight, but rain showers will move in mostly after 9 p.m. this evening. Scattered rain will continue during a good portion of the morning and afternoon hours on Friday. At this point, we’ll struggle to climb into the lower 50s.
For this weekend, the rain will clear out but temperatures will not get above the lower 50s for highs and will drop into the lower 30s for overnight lows.
