Above Normal Temps + Meteor Shower Tonight

December 13th, 2012 at 10:37 am by under Weather

Today: Clear skies will make way for lots of sunshine this afternoon which will warm temperatures up near 50°. Keep in mind the average daytime high temperature should be close to 42°.

Tonight: It’ll be a clear and cold overnight with temps dropping back into the upper 20s. The clear skies plus a new moon (a new moon puts off little light which will keep the sky dark) tonight will make for prime viewing opportunities for the Geminid’s meteor shower! It’ll be quite the sight with meteors estimated to come in around 100-150 per hour. The best time is after 10 p.m. EST lasting through the early morning hours on Friday.

Tomorrow: A few more clouds will filter in during the second half of the day, but still look for mostly sunny skies as temps climb into the lower 50s.

Weekend + Extended Outlook: Scattered rain showers return for Saturday, but temperatures will stay mild with highs near 54°. The rain will clear out by Sunday, but slightly cooler air returns. Temps will be more seasonal next with with highs staying steady in the lower 40s.
