Slick Roads This WeekendFebruary 2nd, 2013 at 11:25 am by Lindsey Monroe under Weather
**Roadways are very slick and officials have said to avoid driving on interstates. Keep in mind side roads and secondary roads will be very slippery with the recent snowfall and with temperatures staying below freezing.**
Today: Light snow showers still linger to our west so there is still a chance for snow throughout the next few hours. We’ll get a break from the snow starting early this afternoon but with temps in the lower 30s, slick roads will be a concern still.
Tonight (Overnight): A second wave of snow (this time along a cold front) returns by 5 a.m. Sunday. Only an additional dusting expected. Temperatures will drop back near 19°.
Sunday: Many of us probably have travel plans for the big game Sunday evening, but keep in mind there will be some issues with the two waves of snow that will impact the Valley this weekend. By early Sunday afternoon, snow exits and skies will slowly become partly cloudy with only up to an additional dusting expected. It will be rather windy for Sunday afternoon too, with winds gusting from the west up to 30 mph!
Extended Outlook: Another wave of snow showers returns on Monday and at this point an additional 1-2″ of accumulation doesn’t look out of the question. Highs will remain in the 30s through Wednesday and more “seasonal” air returns by Thursday.
