Rain showers are changing to light snow showers this evening bringing us our first taste of winter weather! Snowfall accumulations will stay minor and only up to around a half inch but caution is still recommended when traveling late Monday night and Tuesday morning. Rain will change over to light snow in our northern counties first as the colder temps settle in from north to south. Snowfall amounts around the half inch mark will be most common with slightly less total snow expected west into Illinois. Slightly higher amounts will be found to our east near central Indiana. Snowfall is still on track to end before sunrise Tuesday but I urge everyone to take your time when traveling as slick spots are still expected through early Tuesday morning. While the ground temperature is not cold enough to keep snow on the ground for a long period of time…a few slick spots will still be present. Low temperatures will drop into the upper 20s tonight with daytime highs only topping out in the mid 30s Tuesday afternoon.
